Why we recommend it
Two things happen in most houses long before anyone mentions a riser chair. The person stops lowering themselves into the armchair and starts dropping the last few inches. And getting out of it means pulling on the arm of the sofa, or a radiator, or whatever furniture is nearest. Both are how people end up on our list of falls.
A riser recliner deals with the mechanics: the chair lifts you gently towards standing, and lowers you under control rather than letting gravity finish the job. Nothing is being pulled on, nothing is tipping over.
What makes the Club2 worth its price over a basic riser is the other end of the range. It reclines fully flat — back and footrest controlled separately — so it works as a bed for an afternoon sleep, or for a night when getting upstairs is not happening. We fit these for couples where one person has stopped coming to bed because the stairs are too much, and the alternative was a hospital bed in the sitting room.
Choose it if standing up from a chair has become the difficulty, or if sleeping downstairs is already happening on a sofa that was never meant for it.
Choose something else if the difficulty is walking rather than rising — that is a rollator conversation, and cheaper. If you need a chair for a specific postural or pressure-care need, that should be assessed by an OT before anything is ordered.

Before you order
A riser chair is fitted to a body, not bought off a shelf. Seat height decides whether your feet reach the floor; seat depth decides whether your back reaches the lumbar support; seat width decides whether the arms help or squeeze. Get any of those wrong and an expensive chair becomes uncomfortable within a week.
So we measure before we order: your height, lower-leg length, hip width and where the chair is going. Ask us for the current fabric and colour options at the same time — they change, and matching a room matters more than people admit.

Common questions
Does it really lie flat?
Yes — the backrest reclines to horizontal and the position is pre-programmed to a single button, so it can be used for an afternoon sleep or as a bed for a visitor.
What happens in a power cut?
Ask us about the battery back-up option before ordering. It is the question people wish they had asked, because without it a chair in the reclined position stays there until the power returns.
Can two people use it?
It can be shared, but it should be measured for the person who will use it most and who needs the rise function. A chair set for a 1.55m user does not work well for a 1.85m one.
How much room does it need behind it?
Enough to recline without hitting the wall — we check this at the home visit, along with the nearest socket. It is the most common thing people forget.
Is delivery and set-up included?
We deliver it into the room it is going to live in and set it up there. Talk to us about timescales when you order — upholstered furniture is made to order, so it is not next-day.
