Collection: Rollators

Twenty-odd rollators, from €499. The useful question isn't which is best — it's which is right for you.

We are an HSE-approved supplier and we fit every frame we sell, so this range is chosen rather than listed: byACRE from Denmark, Rollz from the Netherlands, Saljol from Germany, TOPRO from Norway. Here is how to narrow it down.

If lifting it is the problem

Weight decides whether a rollator gets used or left in the hall. The lightest frames we stock are the Saljol Carbon Superlight (4.4kg), the Rollz Air (4.7kg, and rated to a 175kg user) and the byACRE Carbon Ultralight (4.8kg, forward-facing handles that keep you upright).

If the ground is rough

Pavements and shop floors suit any of the above. For grass, gravel, forest paths or the beach you need pneumatic tyres — that is the byACRE Carbon Overland at 6.7kg.

If hills or runaway steps worry you

The Saljol Carbon with drag brakes carries constant, adjustable resistance on the rear wheels, so the frame holds its pace downhill instead of pulling away. It is our usual answer to festination in Parkinson's.

If your feet freeze

The Rollz Motion Rhythm builds a laser line, a metronome and handle vibration into the frame — external cues that break a freeze at a doorway. See the whole Parkinson's range.

If the day outlasts the legs

The Rollz Motion 2.1 converts from rollator to attendant-pushed wheelchair in seconds, so the walk back never decides whether the outing happens.

If the difficulty is indoors

Outdoor rollators are too wide for most halls. The Saljol Indoor Rollator is 51cm at its narrowest and can be pushed along while seated; the Scandinavian Butler turns in its own footprint and looks like furniture.

If your hands can't take the weight

Where arthritis, a weak wrist or one-sided weakness rules out handles, a forearm frame moves the support up the limb — the TOPRO Troja Walker².

Sizing is not a formality. Handle height decides whether you walk upright or stooped, and seat width decides whether you actually rest. We measure at the fitting, set the brakes, and adjust it while you are standing there — at our Sandyford showroom or in your own home, where we can try it in your hall and your car boot.
