4.7kg of carbon that still takes 175kg — the lightest frame we stock with a heavy-user rating.

Why we recommend it

Most ultralight rollators buy their lightness by lowering what they can carry. The Rollz Air does not: 4.7kg, and a maximum user weight of 175kg. That combination solves a problem we run into constantly — someone who needs a genuinely light frame, because lifting it into a boot is the daily difficulty, and who keeps being offered either a light rollator rated for 100kg or a sturdy one that weighs 10kg. The Air is the rollator that stops making you choose.

It is also the one we hand people when they say they are tall. The regular size takes users up to 2.00m, where most lightweight rollators stop well short, and the handles go to 100cm. If you have spent years stooping over a frame set too low, that is the first thing you will notice.

Then the bags. Two of them, front and rear, rather than a single basket slung underneath. Weight split across both ends keeps the frame balanced instead of tipping backwards when you let go of it — and 10kg of capacity is a real shop, not a token. The back support is included rather than sold as an extra, so the seat is somewhere you can properly rest.

Carbon fibre is what makes all of that possible in one frame: stiffer than steel for its weight, so the strength is in the material rather than in extra tube. Shock-absorbing wheels take the sting out of cracked Irish footpaths, and it folds to 27.5cm — narrower than anything else we stock — for a small boot or a bus.

Choose it if you want the lightest frame you can get without a weight-limit compromise, you are tall, you carry shopping, or you simply want the least you can lift at the end of a tiring day.

About the Rollz Air

Rollz is a Dutch manufacturer, best known here for the Motion rollator-wheelchair. The Air is their carbon lightweight and the newest frame in the range: plain, exactly made, and designed to look like something you chose rather than something you were issued.

Buying from Bee Healthcare

  • Try it before you buy. A 45-minute assessment at our Sandyford showroom, or at home if you'd rather — book an appointment. Lift it yourself: that is the whole argument for this rollator, and it takes about four seconds.
  • Delivered set up, not boxed. Handle height and brakes set with you.
  • HSE-approved supplier. We issue quotes in the format a funding application needs.

Common questions

Is it strong enough at 4.7kg?

It carries the highest user rating of any lightweight rollator we stock — 175kg. Carbon fibre is stiffer than steel for its weight, which is why it is used for bicycle frames and prosthetics. The Air is light because of the material, not because material has been left out.

Which size do I need?

Small suits 1.35–1.70m, Regular suits 1.60–2.00m. A wide version with a broader seat also exists. We measure at the fitting — handle height is what decides whether you walk upright or stooped.

Can it take a shopping load?

Up to 10kg across the two bags on the Regular, 8kg on the Small. Splitting the load front and rear is what keeps it balanced, and it is the reason people who shop on foot end up with this one.

Will it fit in a small car?

It folds to 27.5cm wide, the narrowest fold in our range, so it goes into boots that defeat other rollators — and at 4.7kg most people lift it in one hand.

Is it suitable outdoors?

Yes — pavements, shop floors, promenades and smooth paths, with shock-absorbing wheels for uneven footpaths. For grass, gravel or beach you want pneumatic tyres instead.
