51cm at its narrowest — and the only rollator we sell that you are allowed to sit on and push yourself along.

Why we recommend it

Outdoor rollators fail indoors for a simple reason: they are too wide for the doorways, and too long to turn in a hall. People end up furniture-walking between rooms, which is exactly the behaviour that precedes a fall.

The Saljol indoor rollator is built for the inside of an Irish house. At 51cm on its narrowest side it goes through almost any internal door, and it can be fully loaded at any point without tipping — you can lean on the front, the back or the side of it the way you would lean on a handrail, which is the real test of an indoor frame.

The part that changes people's days is the seat. A standard rollator may only be sat on with the brakes locked — sit down, and you have to stop. This one is approved for what the Germans call tripping: sitting on the seat and pushing yourself along with your feet. For someone who cannot stand long enough to make a cup of tea, that is the difference between managing the kitchen and not.

Choose it if indoors is where your difficulty is: narrow doorways, long halls, or standing tolerance measured in minutes.

Choose something else if you mainly walk outdoors — this is a house frame at 9.4–10kg and it is not meant for footpaths. For both, most people keep an indoor frame and a light outdoor rollator such as the Carbon Ultralight.

Fitted for

  • Multiple sclerosis — where standing tolerance varies through the day
  • Parkinson's disease — turning and doorway freezing indoors
  • Falls at home — replacing furniture-walking with something built to be leaned on
  • After surgery — hip and knee recovery in a small house
  • Reduced standing tolerance — cooking and washing up while seated

What's included

The indoor rollator with its seat board, delivered assembled and set to your height. A padded seat, tray, cabinet bag and back roll are available separately — the tray is the one most people add, for carrying a plate or a cup between rooms with both hands on the frame.

About Saljol

Saljol is a German manufacturer of premium mobility aids with more than twenty years in the field. Their indoor rollator is designed around the idea that a home frame should be as stable as a handrail — loadable from any direction, rather than only from behind.

Buying from Bee Healthcare

  • Try it before you buy. A home assessment is the sensible option for an indoor frame — we bring it to your own doorways and halls. Showroom appointments are available too: book an appointment.
  • Delivered set up, not boxed. Size chosen and height set with you.
  • HSE-approved supplier. We issue quotes in the format a funding application needs — indoor frames are often funded after a falls assessment.

Common questions

Will it fit through my doors?

At 51cm on its narrowest side it passes through almost any internal door, including the narrower doors in older Irish houses and most bathroom doors. If you have a genuinely tight doorway, measure it and tell us before you order.

Can I really sit on it and move around?

Yes, indoors. That is what separates it from an ordinary rollator, which may only be sat on with the brakes applied. You push yourself along with your feet on the seat board or an upholstered seat.

Which size should I choose?

Seat height is the deciding measurement: you want both feet flat on the floor with your knees bent. WR43 to WR56 covers users from 135cm to 200cm. We size it at the fitting, and it is worth doing — a seat 3cm too high undoes the point of it.

Can I lean my weight on it?

Yes, at any point on the frame. It is designed to be loaded from the front, the sides or the back without tipping, which is the difference between a handrail and a trolley.

Can I use it outdoors?

It is not intended for outdoor use. Kerbs, camber and rough ground call for a different frame.
