Why we recommend it

Standing up from a standard toilet asks a lot of hips and knees, and it is one of the first everyday movements people start to dread. Raising the seat shortens the distance you have to lower yourself and the distance you have to push back up — and the armrests give you something to push from, instead of the cistern or the towel rail.

Most raised seats are white plastic bolted to a frame. The Poise is designed to sit in a bathroom you might actually like: wood-effect legs, four colours, and easy-clean surfaces that do not look clinical.

Three seat heights are set by swapping the feet, so the fit can be adjusted as things change rather than being decided once at purchase.

Choose it if getting up from the toilet is the difficulty, and you would rather not have equipment on display.

Does it fit over my toilet?

It stands over the toilet on its own legs rather than clamping to the pan, so it suits most standard WCs. If your bathroom is tight or the toilet is an unusual shape, measure the space around it and tell us before ordering.

Which height should I choose?

The one that leaves both feet flat on the floor with your knees no higher than your hips. The three positions are 47.8cm, 52.3cm and 56.7cm, changed by swapping the feet.
