Rollz Electric Wheelchair Conversion Kit

Turns the Rollz Motion you already own into an electric wheelchair — without replacing the rollator.
Why we recommend it
There is a stage many of our customers reach where the rollator still works for the house and the wheelchair mode still works for the day out, but the person pushing has become the limiting factor. A spouse with their own arthritis. An adult child who can manage a flat shopping centre and not a hill. At that point the usual advice is to buy a powerchair and retire the rollator — two thousand euro of equipment made redundant, and a frame the user had finally got comfortable with.
This kit takes the other route. Four new wheels, a motor, a battery, a joystick and a push-assist controller convert the Rollz frame you already have: walk with it as a rollator, sit into it as a wheelchair, and drive it yourself with the joystick — or let a companion push with the motor taking the hill out of the job.
Choose it if you already own a compatible Rollz frame and the pushing has become the problem, or you want to keep your own independence on longer outings.
Think carefully first. Fitting the kit makes the rollator a custom-made product, which means it cannot be returned or refunded afterwards. If you are unsure, a fitting with us before you commit is genuinely worth the appointment.
Fitted for
- Multiple sclerosis — fatigue that varies day to day and outing to outing
- Parkinson's disease — where walking distance has shortened but independence matters
- Carers and family members — where pushing on slopes has become unsafe or exhausting
- Longer distances — airports, garden centres, town days, family occasions
What's in the kit
- Four wheels
- Motor, battery and charger
- Joystick controller for the user
- Push-support controller for the person pushing
- Two heel protection straps for the footrests
- Anti-tipping aid
- Under-seat basket
Compatibility
Fits the Rollz Motion 2.1, the Rollz Motion Performance, and the Rollz Motion Rhythm — the Rhythm needs the wheelchair package fitted as well. If you would rather buy the whole thing ready-made, the Rollz Motion Electric arrives complete.
How the fitting works
The conversion is carried out by an authorised Rollz partner rather than at your kitchen table, so your rollator goes away for the work and comes back converted. Talk to us before ordering and we will explain the current arrangements, the timescale, and what happens to your frame while it is away.
Buying from Bee Healthcare
- Try it before you buy. Drive a converted frame at our Sandyford showroom before committing — book an appointment. This is not a purchase to make from a photograph.
- HSE-approved supplier. We issue quotes in the format a funding application needs — powered mobility is usually assessed by an OT, so involve them early.
Common questions
Can I still use it as a rollator afterwards?
Yes. The converted frame keeps all three modes — walk behind it, be pushed in it, or drive it with the joystick.
Is the conversion reversible?
Fitting the kit makes the rollator a custom-made product and it cannot be returned or refunded once converted. Be certain before you order.
How far will it go on a charge?
The Rollz Motion Electric, which uses the same drive system, is rated at roughly 15km with a top speed of 6km/h. That covers a full day out for most people.
Who fits it?
An authorised Rollz partner does the conversion. We coordinate it with you — ask us about timescales before ordering.
Should I convert or buy the Electric outright?
If you already own a suitable Rollz frame and are happy with it, converting keeps what you know. If you are starting from scratch, the ready-built Rollz Motion Electric is simpler. We will tell you honestly which is better value in your case.
