Saljol One Hand Brake

Both brakes on one lever, so the rollator can be braked entirely from your stronger side.

Why we fit it

A standard rollator assumes two working hands. After a stroke, with one-sided weakness, or where arthritis has taken the grip on one side, that assumption quietly makes the frame unsafe — you can slow one wheel but not both, and the rollator pulls round as you try.

The one-hand brake conversion links both brake units to a single lever. Whichever side you can use, you get the full brake. Nothing else about the rollator changes.

It is fitted to the frame rather than clipped on, so it is set up with you at the appointment and adjusted to the hand you are actually using.

What it fits

The brake wire is a separate replacement part if yours needs changing later.

Common questions

Which hand does it work from?

Either — it is set up for the side you tell us at the fitting, and can be changed later if your stronger side changes.

Does it replace the normal brakes?

It links them. You still get both brakes; you simply operate them from one lever instead of two.

Can it be fitted to a rollator I already own?

Usually yes, on a Saljol frame. Talk to us about fitting it — we will check the model first.
